We walked around Venice on a very hot and humid evening, looking for a bite to eat, when we stumbled upon this place and was approached by a very relaxed, typically cool looking Italian gent just outside that gave us a peak of the menu and explained that this restaurant has no hidden service charges, and all the food is prepared fresh and uses only local ingredients. Upon looking at the menu and seeing that the prices for dishes were more than reasonable, I asked if it was air conditioned inside and upon hearing it was, all 5 of us were in and seated. Our waiter Luigi was exceptional. First of all he gave me the wine list, or as he described it ‘his Bible’. A Man after my own heart! What an incredible list, good Italian wines from all regions, and a few French gems of note, with all price points covered from €24 upwards. We opted for Franciacorta and an exceptional Chardonnay from Alto Adige. The food was fantastic. We all opted for seafood/fish dishes and they just could not have been better, with the Spider crab linguine taking the plaudits. We were given complimentary bruschetta to start and cold Limoncello shots to finish. Luigi and the rest of the front of house staff made our experience very memorable and honestly, I can not recommend this restaurant enough! We will be back...
Read moreWe broke all the rules going to this restaurant and didn't regret it; i.e. waiting staff outside were encouraging and welcoming us in; there were photographs of the dishes in the menu. Well, thank God, as a tourist, a photo of what I'm about to order is incredibly helpful. It's all very well to aspire to eat like a Venetian but it's just a lucky dip if you're not and you're reading an Italian menu. We kind of doubted our selected dishes would look as incredible as the photos on the menu but I can absolutely say that the food delivered to our table was in every way as beautiful as the menu photos and tasted tender and delicious. The waiters were all professional, charming and funny. The location, whilst being minutes from St Mark's Square is tucked away, and is a calm and relaxing spot.Well worth...
Read moreExtremely disappointed in staff. After a bit overpriced and salty food we paid the bill in cash and were about to leave when all the staff attacked us by asking to pay the bill again and saying we should remember who took our cash. We thought they were friendly and joking when we quickly realized it was not a joke and all of them stood in the doorway asking how we were going to pay. After realizing what was happening we stood there in shock and demanded to find out who took our money. All of a sudden everything was fine and they started apologizing. What a horrible experience for the first night dinner in Venice. Please beware of the cheating staff and maybe pay the bill on a...
