FLUFFY BRUNCH — Restaurant in Venice

Careful. I left an honest review. I'm glad others had a good experience. But believe the other bar reviews. Deleted are posted because of Derogatory behavior in the own reply. In reply to the rude response to the restaurant. Very awful owner. They edited their review reply. They are childish. We arrived at on time. Our reservation was at 5:30 pm not 5:45. We were ignoring at a completely empty restaurant. We were the only customers when we arrived. When other venetian ladies came in 20 min after us, you took their orders right away. They still wrent happy and left like the were running away. Sorry but this place is poorly run. I'm shocked it has 4.6 reviews. If you didn't want us to come, you could of said so on the phone when we called to make the reservation. The bad review is on your behavior. Sorry you don't like it. You can see my other reviews. I'm actually pretty nice. You just pushed my bad side with a bad restaurant experience.

I'm going to be honest. 1 star review for the chefs/cooks. We left still hungry. Definitely letting the expats know to avoid this place. Maybe we just went on a bad day? Sure, the restaurant won't like this review. Don't go to eat here after 5pm The cooks really don't want to make anything after this point. Though they close at 6:30pm 1830. When we placed the reservation, the girl had to go ask the chef if he felt like cooking. First time encountering this in italy. I get it they are human too. I use to be a chef. But maybe I worked at better run places? We didn't close the kitchen until 15 min before close. The girls working here did do their best to at least get us something to eat. Though when we ordered we had to ask if the cooks would even do it. Very odd. Makes you feel uncomfortable to be here. Why even bother going? The girls working here are pretty attentive a bit. Ws arrived and were the only customers at first. But locals definitely get priority service when they arrived. Which we are local. My husband is venetian and works in venice. We just speak English because i still have trouble with Italian due to a head injury. Food honestly wasn't great. Under cooked. The drinks were good. So go here for drinks. Women's bathroom was decent my husband said the men's was horrible.

Over all mixed feelings. Won't go back sorry. There's other breakfast places. This one is more of a gimmick style and you'll be lucky if you can get what you...

We came for the mini pancake plate this morning, but were told it is only served in the afternoon - which is really sad and not even mentioned in the menu.

Therefore we order another pancake instead, together with one avocado toast and two orange juices.

However, we received our first toast after 30min place the order, orange juice in 38min (after checking twice), and NEVER come the pancake!!

The waitress is nice (though not very helpful) but the waiter is really rude. I asked him whether our order is missing after 45min placing the order with him, he just said ‘but I already serve you the toast!’ Totally horrible not even with an apology!

We have to leave after 1hour waiting - hungry still. Will never come back for this POOR service !

No wonder how rude the service could be in the restaurant, can feel it deep in bone from the owner.

Regarding the pancake, we’ve been waiting 50min from order, and it is said need 20min more! To provide more details, it is said 2min at most when I check for the first two times (around 40min), then need 20min for the third time (after 50min already).

From beginning to end, there is no apology at all.

Meanwhile, the other two tables ordering pancakes same time with us, have already got the pancake and finished eating.

It is simply a huge mistake in work - get better training, do not take so many reservation if you cannot handle the pressure. Or at least - trying to be more...

Ignore the hype. The service was awful and the food lacked flavour and substance. We waiting 40 minutes for a stack of, admittedly okay looking, pancakes. They were cold, flavourless and the Chantilly cream was limp and bitter. We were seated in an almost half full restaurant but still got placed in the gangway next to the toilets which reeked of urine, under a flickering lightbulb. We watched new customers receive service faster and with more enthusiasm for seemingly no reason (as the clientele was exclusively non-italian tourists we can't tell what the problem was). Just to add to the confusion and honestly ridiculous service, there were 2-3 different versions of the menu online and INSIDE with different prices for the same dish/drink. When we told them we were unhappy with literally everything we didn't receive any form of apology but the owner/manager did make a scene of having to dispose of our dishes. Only come here if you want an overpriced photoshoot with a cheap LED sign, some fairy lights and some mildly photogenic food. Addendum: yes we didn't pay for the pancakes, because I refused to, not because the option was offered. Read the rest of these 1 star reviews and get a feel for the place. The owner is delusional and...
