Trattoria Ai Botteri — Restaurant in Venice

I was having dinner there 2 days ago. The food was good. BUT they cheat o your check!!! Be careful! We ordered two pizzas and two waters. We should pay less than 30 euro for pizzas and plus water and coperta should be 40 euro max. The first check was for 50 euros with lasagne and some other primi dish. I said we had pizzas not that. So they changed that and gave me a check with 2 pizzas but each a few euros more expensive and total over 45 euro. E.g. pizza speck and rucola should be 14.50 it was 19.50. I didn't want to argue and spoil my evening so we just paid. But this is terrible how they treat...

If you have any gluten issues I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I tend to eat gluten free pasta but I don’t have a serious intolerance. We were told it was cooked in a different kitchen so no cross contamination.

Then the waiter was so good - he went above and beyond when I order a shared dessert. He wouldn’t settle until he made sure I understood that it had gluten in it, and that he understood I didn’t have a serious gluten intolerance.

We ordered at around 7:30pm. The restaurant wasn’t full and there wasn’t much happening to excuse the long wait. We waited up until 8:50pm until our meals came. We did order the chicken breast and milanese style chicken. However to wait over an hour for just two slices of chicken with nothing but a lemon slice is just ridiculous— if it at least tasted good it would be a little better. And to pay the price it is listed at… We were definitely guided by the good reviews but cannot...
