I had the pleasure of dining at Osteria Sora al Ponte during my trip to Venice, and it was truly one of the highlights of my visit. Nestled in a charming spot by a quiet canal, this local gem offers a warm, authentic atmosphere that immediately makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special. The food is absolutely delicious traditional Venetian dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. I highly recommend the sarde in saor and the homemade pasta, especially the seafood options. Everything tasted like it was made with care, just like a home-cooked meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, happy to explain the menu and recommend their favorites. You could tell they genuinely enjoy what they do, which added so much to the experience. Prices were fair for the quality and location, and the portions were generous without being over the top. It’s the kind of place that feels both relaxed and full of character perfect for a quiet lunch or a romantic dinner by the canal. If you’re looking to escape the overly touristy restaurants and enjoy real Venetian food with local charm, Sora al Ponte is the place to go. I’ll definitely be coming back next time...
Read moreWe decided to follow a recommendation. With the name and the google pictures in mind we went there to be surprised. To be honest, at first we were expecting a beautiful table on a calm, dead end bridge, finding 3 tables in the corner of a frequently used one. BUT than we discovered an unexpected beautiful and welcoming restaurant inside, only topped by the friendly and funny waiter. He gave us good recommendations on the menu and guided the evening with funny commends and a subtle presence, just perfect for a diner date. He also offered generous extras . Although the restaurant is a bit more on the expensive side, the quality of the food was amazing (just to mention the fresh and self made pasta!) and even offered a surprise with the mixed fish platter. (I am not posting the picture because it would spoil the „special effect“) So all in all the restaurant stands for quality over quantity in all the important areas. We really loved to spend a bit more money for such a good experience, made our day! Thank you
Cheers,

Read moreI was very excited to go there for my anniversary after seeing all the reviews. I opted for a seafood starter and main course I didn't have a dessert.
Our food took a long time to arrive and apparently chef had problems. When it did arrive it was blazing but continued for a long time and I had to ask them to take it away as I felt uncomfortable near it.
Saying that the food tasted good and other couples near us seemed to enjoy theirs .
The waiter was friendly and helpful so maybe it was my choice of dish.
Desserts looked good but I didn't want to stay as the flaming food as in on fire 🔥 had caused a bit of an argument between us and had it not been for another couple beside us I may not have stayed as long.
So my experience ( helpful and friendly waiters ) He gave us a bottle of prosecco when I said that it was our anniversary. I think he sensed that I was a little stressed.
But I wouldn't order anything that is brought to the table...
