I’m surprised by the negative reviews. Contrary to what others have written, we had a wonderful early evening experience. We received a lovely complimentary snack from the restaurant — olives and nuts — and the coperto was minimal, unlike many places where you get no nice extras and the coperto is high! We had Bellinis, Aperol, and coffee.

Yes, it’s expensive — but with that kind of view and such attentive service, I think it’s absolutely justified. Our waiter was very polite and attentive, and it was totally worth sitting down and enjoying the moment!

While we were there, some people were complaining they weren’t being let into the restaurant — but to be fair, there is a dress code for the restaurant (not the bar), and it’s clearly displayed at the entrance along with the menu and prices, so there really shouldn’t be...

The nice look that you get while sitting was absolutely not worth the awful experience that we had. The stuff was very rude to us, after asking for a menu we still didn't get it, so we couldn't even check what do they have. After that, pressured by the waiter we ordered just drinks, I ordered a latte and my bf ordered a cola (0.33), and for just these drinks the bill was 18 euros. I went to several restaurants in Venice and I know that it's not cheap here, but not to THAT degree, that you get a cola for 10 euros. We didn't get a normal invoice, the waiter just wrote 2 numbers on the sheet of paper and gave us this as a "bill". I'm suspecting that the price wasn't real. We never got the menu to confirm if the prices were true or not. Long waiting time, rude service, made up prices... save your money and time and better...

I recently went to this restaurant with my family. While the food was pretty good, especially considering the price, the service was at best mediocre and atmosphere was very uncomfortable. To be fair, one of my family members did show up without proper attire, but then went out of their way to spend hundreds of dollars to fix the issue, coming back dressed significantly better. This one encounter led to us being seated next to a super loud and squeaky door, even when we asked to be moved they just ignored us. Lastly, almost every time anyone came to serve us they were very stiff and hurrying us, sometimes even forcing things out of our hands. Because of the food I give this restaurant a boost, but honestly the worst experience I’ve...

I love this place and am annoyed at some of the negative reviews. My husband and I love early breakfast on the patio in late March or April. Or drinks in the cozy bar at night. The view is the absolute best in Venice encompassing the Punta, and across the Basino, Zitelle and San Georgio. In the morning and at night feast your eyes on pure beauty . A large gondola stop is right beyond the patio: fun to see the gondoliers get ready to go to work in the morning. The waiters are formal, not unfriendly. Learn to tell the difference. Those craving cheap drinks should get take-out and go stand on the Riva.

Beautiful Grand canal side cafe with amazing food and presentation but horrid welcome. The Maitre d’ completely ignored me to help a couple that came in after us. When I said excuse me “we were here first” he got quit snappy with me and said ma’am.. “ I am a cleaver man” actually no… you are not clever, you are rude and inconsiderate. If you had just acknowledge me from the first… that would have been clever and doing your job. Oh… if you do make it past the inconsiderate maitre d’ be sure to try the desserts! Those made it all better! ☺️
