We only came here because of our Rolling Venice cards. On the Rolling Venice site, it says to buy the Fornace Mian tickets here to get the 30% discount. You've also got a 15% discount at the café with the Rolling Venice card, as well. So I figured we may as well get a coffee while we were there, too. We didn't realize there were two prices for everything on the menu: a cheaper (but still extremely overpriced) price for "banco" and a hugely overpriced price for "tavolo"... We felt like stupid tourists after that. When they brought us the ticket (15€ AFTER the discount for a tiny coffee, coke, croissant and macaron!!!) and I asked for the 15% off with the Rolling Venice card... I also asked about the Fornace Mian tickets. The waiter didn't understand me, so I asked another employee about it. She thought I was trying to ask for 30% in the café. No, I explained, it said I could buy tickets for the Fornace here. She finally understood and told me the tickets were sold in a ticket office outside the café. (They aren't. I finally called the Fornace directly and they said you can just buy them on-site. The Rolling Venice site is incorrect and the café is extremely overpriced. The 15% discount should be a 50% discount for it to be worthwhile.) Service is expeditive...
Read moreDidnt even get to spend money here but wanted to write a review to warn people about this place. PLS AVOID!
We sat down at the cafe and while studying the menu. One of the staff came over and told everyone who were already sitting inside that they were not allowed to sit and have their drinks in the cafe. The staff said that they were only serving drinks at the bar. This was around 4pm which was the usual tea time and there were already many people sitting down before we entered. When I asked if I could place my order at the bar and bring my drinks to my seat, the staff told me I couldnt do that too.
All of us decided to just leave the cafe because many of us were tourists and likely wanted to sit down to have our coffee. A group of elderly customers left together with us and they were noticeably very upset.
It's shame that no one was allowed to sit in the cafe because the decor was interesting and had a nice vibe. It was also right next to a water bus station so it would have been a nice rest stop before continuing our...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting Illy Cafe in Venezia, and I can confidently say it didn’t disappoint. Just by the water, it proved to be the perfect stop before we set off on the ferry to Murano.
From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere welcomed us. The baristas here truly know how to craft a perfect cup of coffee. Service was slow, but the coffee wad outstanding. It completely exceeded my expectations—it was rich, aromatic, and absolutely delightful!
We indulged in some delicious pastries that paired wonderfully with our drinks, making it a lovely mini brunch experience. It was smart of us to stop here; the combination of fantastic coffee and tasty treats set a great tone for the day.
If you find yourself in Venezia near the ferry station, don’t miss out on Illy Cafe. Whether you're a coffee aficionado or just looking for a cozy spot to relax before your next adventure, this cafe is a must-visit. I can't...
