I rarely write reviews but this place really stood out as the worst service I’ve ever had.
I said no to a drink and even with other people in our group who were served and sitting at a table, we were told that we had to get a drink or have it takeaway. She handed us a drinks menu and walked away as I tried to ask for a water. We waited for ages to get served for the drink and another lady eventually did but as she asked if we wanted a drink the first lady instantly turned around and glared at us to make sure we were ordering one.
For context of the group experience as we left one of the other people we were with said ‘that lady scares me’ and ‘interesting is a nice way to put the service’
Not 10 seconds after leaving my partner decided to go back to use the bathroom as they are hard to find in Italy unless you get food somewhere, as we were walking up the stairs we got yelled at to order, I told her we’d already ordered and my partner said he was just using the bathroom, we got told ‘it’s a restaurant not a pizza hut’ (if it were a Pizza Hut the service would have been better) he went up anyway so I waited where we had just been sitting before getting yelled at by the 2 women to leave. I tried to explain that we were eating there a minute ago but they got irriationally angry, didn’t even make an attempt to listen to me and shoed me out so I had to wait in the rain. Never in my life have I been kicked out of a restaurant, it was completely baffling and the talking point of my day. After wanting to come to Venice for 20+ years this is what I will remember it for.
On another note pizza was alright, surprisingly found a vegan option but the food is pre-made so they warm everything up (not well) before giving it to you. Can definitely find better food with nicer staff...
Read moreHorrific experience, wish we'd walked out the moment we walked in. This establishment clearly despise their customers, themselves and any regard for customer service whatsoever, and if you don't speak Italian, then from personal experience, they'll probably ignore you altogether. (but after all when you're in a promenant position in Venice you can freely ignore who you like) Though the food looked good from the outside, the pleasure unfortunately ended there. While in the queue to be served several people left due to not being able to sit inside if they ordered just a slide of pizza. My partner had gone upstairs to wait, while I, prewarned, ordered two slices of dry pizza and two glasses of wine. After about 10 minutes I realised that they were completely ignoring me. I called to my partner to come down, who speaks fluent Italian, who asked what on earth was going on. They shruged their shoulders, asked me what I wanted yet again, and some food and wine eventually appeared, albeit served at the communal "cheap" customers table on the ground floor. There are hundreds of great places to stop for a quick bite in Venice. Don't stop at this one. As others have said,...
Read moreOur first night in Venice and we decided to dine at this restaurant. Biggest mistake, we waited 1.5hrs for our food to be served, one waiter was attending to all (12) tables upstairs. The charcutiere plattter had no appeal in the least bit, the spaghetti with clams & vongole was bland with a child size portion with a few clam meat & 5 mussels, 3 of these were dead and the shell shut. I asked for a sirloin steak cooked medium and received it over 1.5hrs later and it was blue/raw.. I returned the steak and chose not to have it replaced in case I needed to wait for another hour. Terrible experience and will never visit this restaurant again. I’ve given this restaurant a one star only bcos I could did not have the option to give...
