What can I say about Oficina Ormesini that hasn’t been said before?!

This restaurant has to be one of the best in Italy, let alone Venice. Nothing is too much for Enzo and his colleagues. The whole team work exceptionally hard to make the dining experience exemplary from start to finish. The whole experience is curated with a zeal and enthusiasm that clearly shows that the employees and owners of this jewel of an eatery see their time here as a vocation, a calling and not merely a job. And the food? Imagine a seafood platter so fresh, it could have been shaken from a fisherman’s net in Burano 20 minutes before it lands on your plate. Oysters begging to be slipped down one's neck. Blackberries, red currants, black currants, melon, dried oranges and physilis nestling alongside dried roses as garnishes. Sliced beef, lipstick pink in the middle and mouth-wateringly succulent. Rosemary roasted potatoes, dusted with Himalayan salt, fluffy, crunchy and light. To be frank, they had me at the bread basket, the contents of which were so varied, we tucked in like it was a chocolate selection box!

For pudding we had a freshly blended fruit sorbet that was as smooth as gelato. Perfect as a palate cleanser. Drinks included several iterations of Venetian Spritz and a glass of deliciously juicy wine that seemed to completely fill our mouths and nostrils with aroma and flavour.

The ambience was candlelight and small table lamps accompanied by a playlist punctuated with contemporary neo jazz and disco classics, a hint of nouvelle vague but mostly the music made me feel happy, alive and grateful to be enjoying one of the most beautiful cities in the world, surrounded by fresh, delicious and irresistible food. Bravo Enzo. You can definitely expect to...

I would give it a zero stars, but not possible.

Incredible rude and disrespectful with our reservation. We made a reservation for three on Saturday for Sunday, and was told that the only available time for outside seating was for Sunday at 9:30 PM, which was late for us, but it was fine.

So we showed up on Sunday at 9:30, and there were two tables for two put together to accommodate three people with a 'reserved' sign on it. Also, next to it there was another wet of two tables where three women were sitting. So I thought this was our table.

As we were sitting on the table, right at that moment a man comes through and asks the host if there are tables available. The host says yes, and the host proceeds to split the two tables and gives one of the tables to the man who didn't have a reservation. In order to accommodate us, the host adds a chair to the small table for two so the three of us can sit.

I pointed to the host that we had a reservation for three, and he had just given half of our table to this passing by man who didn't have a reservation. So he proceeds to setup up a different tables down the street in the middle of nowhere, with no ambience at all.

Instead of asking the man with no reservation to move to the newly setup table, the host asked us to move the the nowhere table. The whole point of making the reservation in advance was to have the ambience, there tons of restaurants around with tables.

So this place DOES NOT RESPECT RESERVATIONS, OR THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE RESERVATIONS AT ALL.

This whole event cause a lot of frustration for our party, who had been looking forward to this dinner in Venice as part of our trip, thrown away because the host decided at the last minute to give away the table we had...

Amazing! This place was just amazing! I went to Venice for 3 nights and the first night my boyfriend and I went to this restaurant. There were no tables outside but the hostess was very nice and fixed a tafel for us inside. The prices of this place were not the cheapest but every single cent we gave for the dinner was worth it. The portions were good and the meals were perfectly made. It was also very beautiful presented and every dish had several different exclusive tastes. The second day we went to other places (this was a disaster) but at night we came back to here and once again everything was perfect. I actually don't eat fish, but I have asked if they could prepare a small plate with their specials. I have got a plate with great portions of 14 different dishes!!! I tasted everything and everything was prepared delicious. And the price wasn't even high so compliments! That's about the dishes... When I start about the service, I think that I could write a whole book with all the compliments. The staff was very polite and they made it all personal. So there was a fake laugh or a settled conversation, it was all pure. All the staff workers are perfectly chosen, because they all are respectful, hard working and very very very kind to the customers. Compliments. A lot of...

Honestly a great welcome meal to Venice- slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the tourist center… a great little spot for bites, conversation and a view. Like some of the visitors mentioned, there were some higher priced items; so yes, for Europe in general, the prices were slightly higher, but for a touristic centre with basic quality food, this place is NOT overpriced! We are big into food quality and service and we felt it was *not inflated* for the quality, service, variety of menus and the cute view. We got the opportunity to spend our afternoon here when we arrived to Venice, and we were NOT disappointed. We got some little toast bites, some oysters and the delicious CRAB! Yum! We loved every minute of sitting on the canal with seafood and a view of passerby’s. Our drinks were beautiful and delicious and ICE cold. Our server was patient and kind and our experience was delightful. I would recommend visiting for happy hour or dinner if you get the chance :)

This is the best food & atmosphere in Venice. A complete value. We were in the area and stumbled upon it, had some cicchetti that were outstanding, followed by one of the best desserts we've ever had (meringue & berries). Not to mention the most beautifully plated dessert coffees I've ever seen. We immediately made reservations for dinner and that was such a lovely experience. The langoustines were cooked so well and incredibly fresh. The first soft polenta we've seen on a menu was incredible, cooked with cheese and artichokes. My fresh pasta langoustine all busara was the perfect bowl. The bread service was the best we've had in Italy. Service was excellent. Everyone was attentive and so kind. This is a popular neighborhood place and one can see why. The owner is meticulous in making sure every guest is taken care of and happy. It's a wonderful place. Again, a perfect balance of value and quality. We wish we could eat here more.
