The food was OK. I had the gnocchi and had to wait forever for it to cool down as it was unnaturally hot. However, I ordered a cannoli for dessert, and it was gross. It was like they'd filled the middle with cake frosting, AND it tasted as though it were old. To top that off, I was a female dining alone, and my waiter took every single opportunity to harass me about going to get a drink with him once he got off work. Yeah boo, like I'm going to hang around for 2 hours after I've eaten, just for you. You're too old for me, and elephants approach things with more grace. What's really the worst of the worst, though? When I had mentioned I was backpacking and had to pack up early last night because it's a bit of a chore, this creep said something to the tune of "oh well that will make it easier to find you tomorrow, I'll look." What is wrong with you, sir? That's disgusting....sickening really. And I don't really care of you thought that was a joke or not, you don't joke about stalking women. Ya'll need some new employees. I'd turned to the other man who had seated me and asked for the bill (so I didn't have to deal with the creep) and he asks me if I have someone back home, with the implication that that's why I was saying no. Sure brah, I do, if it makes you two back off. What I DO have is a police officer for an uncle and a father who works for the government. Perhaps I should've said that instead....
I would highly NOT recommend this place for single female diners as the male waiters here are desperate, evidently, and will go to great lengths to ignore you saying NO I don't want to go get a...
Read moreReally enjoyed this place tucked in an alley. We were looking for a place to watch the Italy/England game and of course everything was full that had a TV. They had outdoor seating in a smaller alleyway where a TV was set up. Our family of 6 from ohio with 4 boys ages 16-23 all ended up liking this place very much. Had a great waiter, perhaps Albanian in background as he seemed to be able to converse with an albanian couple beside us and I don't think they were speaking Italian. Anyways, he was quite helpful, friendly and accomodating. Everyone seemed to be drinking those aperol spritzes here but after a few prior days, we were tired of these. Nobody seems to drink moscato/frangolino - may too beneath them, but he managed to find some cold ones and we ordered both. Food with very reasonable prices and such an extensive menu. Everything was great. Great game. we happened to be sitting next to an English foursome who was next to a very enthusiastic Italian group - we got a kick out of some of the showmanship between the 2 sides. Would give this place a try. I think they should change their name though to something Italian. Who wants to go to Bar Royal in...
Read moreDid I just get a frozen, out of the box pizza?
Yes, yes, I did!
Came here with some friends, decided to order a Davola pizza. And what I got seem to be an out of the box, undercooked, pepperoni cheese, pizza.
Now,I just spent weeks traveling all around northern Italy, eating pizzas, and this was by far the worst pizza.
I've had better pizza from Aldi's
Now, I rarely give a one star rating, unless it's truly deserved.
When I asked the waiter, if this was a Davola pizza, he just shrugged it off and said yes.
You need to do better!
Now, the good part... The restaurant itself is cute, laid-back, and just off the beaten path.
My friends had seafood pasta, which they said it was OK to good. I didn't dare try it.
Overall, you get the one star. My only one star in Italy on this trip.....
