Food was ok but very over-priced considering it’s a basic bar. We ate at many venues in Venice during the course of our 5day stay and had better food at better price. Service was fine until they charged us 1.50 Euro for asking for additional olive oil for my $7euro side-salad ($3-5 euros typically). Most places in Italy bring a bottle of oil to the table but this place gives you a small package (think ketchup pack). We asked for additional pack for my salad and to put on our bread. We thought the extra cover charge was a mistake so we asked our waitress about it. When we complained to our server about the additional cover charge, she brought over her “boss” who was extremely rude. She told us that nothing is free so if you order something extra, you pay. It’s not about the cost really because we typically tip our servers in addition to the “cover charge” but we thought it was weird to add an additional cover charge for an extra pack of oil especially since the pack was so small and we had ordered full meals with drinks.
Portion size is small. Our actual waitress was nice but never around after bringing our order. We had to walk inside or yell out whenever we needed something.
We did not order multiple bread orders. In fact, we didn’t order bread at all—it was brought to our table which is common practice in Italy. We did ask for additional olive oil pack for which we were charged. We used the oil and paid for it, but it certainly left a bad taste on our mouth after seeing it in the bill.
I did not complain about food because it was fine. I got what I ordered and I ate it. But it’s nothing...
Read moreDON'T GO THERE AS A TOURIST! As many other comments say, if they see that you speak English, they charge you more. - it was full of local students so perhaps the price is different for them. - One aperol spiritz, one cuba libre and one suppli they wanted to charge us 25 €. Luckily my card didn't work and a local told me that it's too much, they changed it to 15 €. It was still too much. I asked to waiter how much each costs and he mentioned like aperol 5€ and cube libre 12€..?? since no menu and details in the bill, we couldn't argue much. So always ask the price from the beginning. Long story short, you would see like nice looking decent people work there and atmosphere is nice but the reality is the opposite. He was talking about how good English he speaks graduated from music school etc and at the same time trying to fool you looking...
Read moreNot a nice experience at all. The waiter gave us 3 menus and waited until we were ready to order to tell us (quite rudely) that they hardly had anything on the menu. All they had was Paella (not on the menu!), risotto and sardines. So we settled for that... and noticed 10 min later that the cook was was simply microwaving risotto from a plastic pack! We could have bought the same from a local supermarket... The risotto was watery and totally unappetizing, which should never, ever be the case in Italy. When we asked why they weren't making fresh risotto, the waiter's response was: "do you want it or not? You should have told me before!" We refused to touch the food and left. The only positive thing I can say is that they didn't charge...
