Very centralized area. Easy to get to and we had no problem getting seated. Extensive menu. Love the (what I assume) is glassware from Murano. Very festive!! Service was top notch. I believe it was the owner stopped at all the tables and made all of us feel very welcome. Like we were visiting his home. He was outgoing, funny, and a real charmer!! Hubs had spaghetti, I had pizza. Which.. since we had just been all over Italy and Venice was our last stop, I wasn't over the moon for the pizza, but it filled the void. Hubs said spaghetti was alright. Nothing to write home about, but again.. WE WERE IN VENICE!! Table next to us had a seafood platter of some sort and they were RAVING about it!! (which, if you do your research, you KNOW Venice is well known for seafood dishes over all else, we just aren't seafood lovers!) It is an incredible location to people watch!! The owner (I think he was) was the only person throughout our entire trip to take the time to visit with us 'tourists'.. Nobody else gave us as much of their attention as he did, and it left a wonderful impression and a...
Read moreExcellent Pizza - the service and food was so good here I broke my own rule of wanting to try different places. We had dinner here and then came back the next morning for an early lunch.
Divola pizza, gnocchi, calamari, Carbarnora pizza - you read that right. Think pizza with pork and an egg on top. With mozzarella. Tagliatelle and Salmon. Capricciosa pizza. plus a side of French Fries!!
All were excellent. The pizza was better than I expected, and the calamari was tender and lightly fried.
Early lunch - Carbarnora, Romana, Capricciosa, Divola. Carbarnora. The services are amazing here. They are kind and attentive and make you feel welcome. Other restaurants often act like they are doing you a favor. I often hear that this restaurant is owned by Italians. I have to say when the staff is all Italian we received poor service. The staff here and the Italian owner were kind and attentive.
When I return to Venice, I will be sure to come here...
Read moreThis place was close to our hotel so my mom and I dropped in twice for quick meals. It's a crowded area with many restaurants. Their food (the mushroom risotto and seafood tagliatelle) are alright, the price was normal for the area. The first time the waiter was friendly, but the second time we ate here, the same waiter handled a situation in a very rude and disrespectful way. We paid for our meal by card, kept the receipt and returned to our hotel. We did not realize they gave us the wrong bill (the number of dishes was the same), it was 5€ lower than our correct bill, BUT I tipped the waiter 5€ in cash so actually we paid the correct amount. The waiter chased us down as if we dined and dashed, disregarded our proof of payment. They let us go in the end but generally the whole situation made us very uncomfortable and embarrassed. This is not a professional place. There is a lack of coordination and care in handling payments and resolving...
