Tarnowska's American Bar — Restaurant in Venice

Il posto, un bel bar annesso ad un hotel, ha un sapore assolutamente non veneziano, come recita anche il nome, ed in effetti ospita molti turisti. Ciononostante mi piace, per una serata alternativa ai soliti bacari e per bere un buon whisky, magari accompagnato da musica live. Attenzione al listino però! 4 drinks, 50€!

The place is a beautiful hotel bar with separate entrance. It ain't no venetian style for sure, in fact it's preatty touristic, but it's a very pleasant spot ti spend a different night out and have a good whisky with friends, maybe with some live music as well. What an absolute rip off. Must have seen two female Brits walking into the bar. We ordered two vodkas with fresh/pure orange juice, after 10 minutes of waiting...the bill came…€40!! Clearly taking advantage of what they thought were two naive brits. Absolutely disgusting!! I antiscipated a higher charge being in Venice but that charge is ghastly. The Tornowska Bar is located in the Ala hotel but it plays music as loud a night club even though its empty. During our stay in the Ala hotel the bar played party music every night past midnight. Even though there were several complaints from different hotel guests, the barkeeper continued to play the music without turning it down. The receptionist explained at 1am that he couldn't do anything about this and that he had already asked the barkeeper to turn it down. The bar was almost empty at midnight...
