We stopped by every day for a morning Cappuccino and a sandwich. At times we had them to go (a 0.50 euro surcharge) and sometimes we stayed just outside, watching the gondolas pass by. The staff was accommodating to English speaking tourists; some sandwiches were served hot (warmed up in the microwave before serving) but we didn't expect them to be all fresh from the kitchen/oven, the place is very small. One morning I had too many things to carry back to room and one staff member offered a tray to carry everything, and asked to have it returned afterwards. I didn't use it but I appreciated the thought. I would have no problem going back again while in Venice.

Many years ago, on my first visit to Venice, I asked the hotel concierge where he goes for coffee, not where he sends the tourists. He told me to go around the corner to Bar Ducale, adding that it’s also where the gondoliers go for their coffee. And I’ve been coming here ever since, particularly for the soft, white crustless tramezzini sandwiches.

This bar stands by the bridge of canal. Very great location to grab a bite to eat and enjoy drinks. First visit, we had breakfast here with very great price. Focaccia with mortadella and croissant with pistachio are both tasty. Second time we visited here before dinner, wine is average too. Staff is kind and the food comes very quickly.

This is a great spot for a quick casual meal.

The restaurant is near a variety of hotels, a shuttle boat stop and a gondola station. Whatever brings you by, it's worth popping in for a panini and a spritz or a pastry and an espresso.

The staff were energetic and nice to speak with, a great chance to try out some Italian.

There is a wide variety of food and drink options available. A great chance to try out a spritz that I kept seeing everywhere.

There isn't any space to sit but enough room to stand inside, or a bar outside along the window to stand under the awning and take in the atmosphere. It's a pretty main corner, lots of people watching options and the gondola staff are fun to watch going by.

This restaurant is nestled nicely into a busy spot as an island of relaxing fun.

Worth a stop on your...

The Brioche and coffee is possibly the best you will get, and at incredible prices. Spritz were also incredibly priced, and the sandwiches fantastic. This place is a must stop! If you get there early enough you will see all the local Gondolier’s getting coffee and a snack, and later in the day a spritz. We were travelling with a 6 month old and the staff were incredible with him. Thank you for the...
