The food here is exceptional and clearly this restaurant is a favorite of all the locals.

The first course was spaghetti with meat sauce and it was served with red wine and bread. The second course was steak served with parnesean tomatoes and zucchini. Finally we were offered a coffee at the conclusion of our lunch.

The food and atmosphere were really enjoyable.

The reception and service were not as great. We had a 1PM reservation. Initially, the hostess said we did not have a reservation, but we saw our names at the very top of her list and pointed them out her. Then we were seated, however, it still took about 20 minutes before we were greeted by our server. We waited an hour for the second course to be served, even as many of the locals were seated, served, and checked out. Clearly, this is a place that caters to locals, not tourists. In total, we spent about 2 1/2 hours having lunch. The waiter was super nice and spoke good English.

Not any options for gluten free.

If you don't have any plans, this is a great lunch spot for a l-i-e-s-u-r-e-l-y lunch. Otherwise, dinner is probably a better option. Definitely make reservations. You won't be served without reservations. Lunch was 20EUR per person. Dinner is...

I was quite reluctant at first to visit this restaurant due to reading few negative reviews but the restaurant had seats and was only 3 minutes walk from our hotel so we tried ( we just arrived , tired and starving). The restaurant had no menu just offered 3 options of set meal (3 different type of pasta and meat dishes) to our surprise, it had exceed our expectations! The meal was certainly good for value , lunch set costs 17 Euro including two main courses , some bread rolls , coffee and water/ wine, both courses were very large portion , in fact it was too large!!! It was nice to try some homemade food, chill red wine , service was not bad but I could understand how they got bad reviews about their services as we went in early around noon it was absolutely fine but when we were leaving after 1pm and the restaurant got very packed, thats when service was getting slower and everyone was getting impatient. I thought the meal was a bargain but I wouldn’t say it was the best Italian meal I ever had . I think if you are in the neighbourhood, definitely try it otherwise there are plenty of other options...

Don’t eat here.

I was recommended by a friend who lived locally, but as so many reviews warn, this place is a disappointment. It may once have had charm, but that’s long gone. The food is cold, bland, and completely uninspired, while the service is careless, rude, and painfully slow.

The wine selection is laughable, apparently the only option is terrible Prosecco, and don’t expect wine glasses unless you specifically ask. Want seasoning for your tasteless food? Good luck, most staff will tell you they only have pepper, and only one particular person seems to know otherwise.

The rudeness when attempting to pay was the final straw. I couldn’t pay without a receipt, and thankfully I didn’t - when finally given a card reader, the total was more than my bill, and they tried to overcharge me.

Miserable food. Miserable service (apart from the one female staff member who was actually trying to be helpful and smiley - Thank you!). Overall a miserable experience. Don’t waste your time...

Tried Thursday night but fully booked. We were able to reserve for the next night- set fish menu. So glad we got the reservation as more people were being turned away. It is popular for a good reason! Starter small plates of polenta, whitefish salad(?), squid in tomato sauce, sardines with lovely onions, lemon marinated seabass and baked mussels. The sea bass and squid tomato sauce were amazing! All of it was good! Then seafood lasagna... incredible. Had read reviews and it did not disappoint. The best lasagna I've ever had and I will probably never bother to make my own again. Phenomenal! Next a seafood platter of battered calamari, king prawns and a small fish. All were very nice! To finish some mascarpone with biscotti. A simple and delicate finish. Excellent! All the food was amazing, exactly what we hoped to find in Venice! Andrea was an excellent host, very friendly and cheerful! Grazi mille!!!

Our hotel manager recommended Trattoria da’a Marisa and it was an incredible find! At 12:00 it was empty. By 12:20 the tables were full and a few people were waiting. Meanwhile, the place next store was near empty. It’s always a good sign to follow the local lunch crowd. The menu is always a daily menu so you choose from the items they have. We went with the octopus spaghetti for a 1st. It was excellent, with a light red sauce. As a second, I chose the pork chop. It was so good that I nearly finished it before taking a photo! Served with cauliflower, potato and roasted onion. Phenomenal. My wife had tuna and polenta for the second. Also excellent but not quite up to the grilled pork. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path but it’s still quite busy. Arrive early or late if the rush.
