An amazing find just out of the main strip of Verona.
A great mixture of traditional foods and food that you'll recognise. The couple that run the place dont speak much if any English so you have to fit in with them, the waiter in glasses however is an absolute gem and was more than happy to recommend wines and dishes.
On our first visit we had the risotto, he proclaimed best in the world and he wasnt wrong. Yes, its a bit drier than western risotto but it is absolutely amazing. The one downside is you have to convince your other quests to also have it.
Second trip, we had Horse Gnocchi and Duck alongside a simple antipasti and the we would absolutely recommend the gnocchi 👌👌👌

Read moreThe food itself was delicious — we got the gnocchi and the tagliatelle. Clearly homemade, and very flavourful. The only dish we didn’t enjoy was the spinach, as it was heavily over-salted on one half, and not salted at all on the other.
Our server seemed less than interested in dealing with us — we are Canadian, but we speak Italian. I don’t know if it’s that he didn’t appreciate tourists, or was having a not so great day. We were also brought still instead of the sparkling water we requested (not a big deal), and not once did our sever come back to our table even after we finished eating to bring the bill or ask if we wanted coffee or anything. Read moreHaving now read other reviews it seems to be clear that this restaurant does not really welcome foreigners even one of us had lived 10+ years in Italy and is naturally fluent in Italian. We had a booking at 19:00 since we had opera at 20:45. We were first ones behind the door to wait for doors to open. All the others who arrived later were served before us - locals. Our antipasti and primi piatti were served at the same time. They also gave us incorrect information about the opera. Especially the older man who might be the manager was totally neglecting us and others did bare minimum....
