I’m a big fan of kissatens and have tried breakfast sets all over Japan from Fukuoka to Sendai. I think the breakfast set here (thick cut toast with butter, boiled egg, apple jam, iced coffee were my choices) is the best one I’ve had in ALL of Japan. The toast is freshly baked and the butter is nice and salty (a lot of other places use saltless margarine) and goes well with the egg and apple jam. The size of the iced coffee is also one of the biggest I’ve seen in a breakfast set, all for around 650 yen (~$4.33)! Read moreI was so lucky to be in a hotel next door to here. If you love a showa kissaten, this is an absolute must visit for your breakfast in Aomori. It was very quiet and I sat near the window which was nice. The interior was fun too.
They roast their own beans there and I had seen an older woman roasting them outside the day prior. The coffee was really good.

It feels like a mix of old style western tea house/vintage americana. The seats are cozy and comfortable but are lower than i expected.
