I’m surprised about the rating of this place. We had a really bad experience and I was ready to not even eat at the store.
We have a party of 7 and I came in to get a table for everyone while they were parking. They told me we need to order before sitting and so I was okay with this and waited for everyone to come. When everyone came I asked them to give me their order and sit down because the place to order was very small and we could not fit there. As soon as one person sat the person at the counter told them to stop and to finish the order first. I asked if it would be okay to take the order and then sit cause we are seven people and the waiting area is small. The person at the counter was reluctant and my partner asked again and she said okay when she realized customers leaving could not get through. This all left a bad taste in my mouth as the service was just shocking. I just wanted to leave at this point. I have never had such a horrible service experience.
Food wise the food was okay. It was nothing special or great. We tried a few things on the menu and all agreed the food was not bad but not great. The reason we came to this place is because we wanted to advertise some restaurants for guests coming from abroad for an event we are holding. We would not recommend this place based on taste as we much prefer Rulers Taco Rice which has so much more flavor, has different sizes and is so much cheaper. I really think this place was overpriced for what it was.
I am glad I experienced this place so as to ensure I do not recommend random places to people coming for our event but I will never come back to this restaurant.
The restaurant was pretty empty when we entered which I guess is telling and should have been an indication that the place would not be great. I have read quite a few reviews now about the bad service.
Just beware if eating here (I wouldn’t), especially if you have...
Read moreI had the traditional taco rice (with spicy ground beef) while my wife had the 4-cheese omelette rice (with chili beans & chicken).
The basic taste of the traditional is quite nice. The spicy ground beef wasn’t spicy enough for me so, I ate the first half topped with McIlhenny Co. TABASCO sauce. The second half was topped with Okinawa Original HAISAI hot sauce.
I recommend the HAISAI sauce because it is found only in Okinawa and may provide some context for comparison with the more widely known TABASCO.
My wife found the 4-cheese omelette rice to be very filling and satisfactory in taste. Perhaps the taste wasn’t spicy enough for her but, she still recommends it. Her only other regret was the absence of tortilla chips from the menu for sopping up the extra salsa sauce.
As fast food restaurants go, the decor was fascinating; the staff were attentive & friendly; the prices were reasonable and the history of taco rice & the restaurants’s names origin made for fun reading...
Read moreStopped in for some taco rice on a super hot July afternoon. This is the perfect lunch meal, filling and light without leaving that gross ‘I just ate double meat chicken cutlet curry and cheese naan from Cocos’ feeling.
I have the 4-cheese w/ curry meat, my wife got the avocado mild and my daughter had the kids plate - she’s a picky eater and wasn’t too sure about it.
The food was great, came out from the kitchen quickly and both looked and tasted amazing. 3 plates, 2 sodas, a beer and a side of fries came out to around 4200 yen, so about $30.
Definitely recommend for a lighter meal, especially...
