My hubby and I decided to dine in to celebrate Valentine Day with friends. The reviews were mixed with some good and some not so good. Nevertheless we decided to give this restaurant a try. I’ll first start with the decor and atmosphere. The atmosphere was very pleasant and views of the shore and boats were phenomenal. I don’t remember any music playing in the background which didn’t bother me and our friends at all. It gave us the opportunity to hear one another as we conversed. We sat in a booth which was not far from the kitchen where we got to see the chefs perform as they prepared each dish. Very clean and neat when platting. Being a personal chef myself I was very appreciative and pleased. The maintenance of this restaurant seemed to be well kept. Ambiance was evident throughout the restaurant. Secondly, the waitress was very friendly and prompt when we arrived. We started with red wine for myself and a lemonade for hubby. Followed by their Buffalo shrimp, bruschetta, and clam chowder. Everything was spectacular deliciously cooked. Food was cooked to order and well platted. We then ordered our entrées. I ordered the rib eye steak combo that came with garlic shrimp, and my husband ordered the grilled tasty chicken. The steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare with a hint of garlic butter. Shrimp tasted very fresh and not frozen. The chicken was juicy, tasty and grilled to perfection as well as the diced potatoes alongside. We also shared the bowl of calamari my friend ordered. I love a good crisp when eating calamari and that’s exactly what I got. The sauce on the side went just right. It wasn’t too heavy and was just the right amount to dab unto the calamari. The Buffalo shrimp had just the right amount of heat and was something I could’ve eaten all night. The bruschetta wasn’t like any ordinary I’ve eaten before. The veggies were fresh and seemed as if it had a nice seafood spread that went fabulous with it. Adding that dash of lime pulled all the flavors together well. The red wine wasn’t as dry and got the job done with me feeling good. My friend ordered the lamb chops that came with some of the best tzatziki sauce I’ve ever tasted. I was very pleased from the time we walked into the restaurant until the time we left. After eating we sat for another 15 mins talking and enjoying wine. Servers continued to come to our table asking if we needed anything else and just making sure we were comfortable. Lastly, they are quick to remove empty dishes away from the table which appeased me. The price wasn’t expensive at all. We paid about $98 USD for 3 appetizers , 2 entrees, 2 glasses of wine, and 2 beverages with an amazing and beautiful view. I am so glad we chose to experience this restaurant for ourselves and not allow some of the negative reviews to waver our minds. The saying goes “you get what you pay for”. I am very pleased and will dine here again to try out other dishes I...

Located at the Chatan Harbor, this restaurant borders fine dining and casual dining. The atmosphere is very modern with an open atmosphere and a few separate dining areas where either those wishing for more privacy or families with kids can be separated. There’s a fantastic view of some of Okinawa’s finest yachts moored just off the deck. The menu is not overly complicated and features a many dishes with local catches. The nights service included the Oyster Plate for appetizer along with the crab cakes, Seafood platter and a kids set. The oysters were amazingly fresh with the perfect blend of ocean spray and meaty flesh, but the real appetizer star is the crab cakes; a perfect crunch and such sweet delicate meat. The red pepper aioli gave the palette a sweet, spicy, and creamy experience that one craves when ordering crab cakes. My wife ordered a glass of red wine with dinner, but was served white, fortunately they corrected the order and left the white wine to be enjoyed as well. Main course was the wait staff’s recommendation, Seafood Platter with grilled shrimp, pan fried mussels, fried calamari, grilled scallops, and local caught grilled snapper. The main course was okay at best. The snapper was far beyond overcooked and the mussels underperformed with flavor. The calamari was pretty good and grilled shrimp was average. I’m a fan of scallops and these were cooked well, but really lacked something, maybe a squeeze of lemon, butter, or flaked salt. Our children shared a meal fit for two; a fried fish, chicken and croquettes dish with a side of rice. They must have approved because it didn’t last long.
For the customer: If there’s a locally procured item on the menu, it should be considered at the top of choices. I always try to support local fisheries and farmers. Order the crab cakes. If it’s still winter in Northern Japan, order the oysters. Don’t be afraid to ask the wait staff what they recommend; they often know what came in fresh and what chefs are best at cooking that day.
For the business: Quality control in a kitchen of this caliber is king. Seriously overcooked grilled snapper left the kitchen that should not have. Server bringing the wrong wine doesn’t really bother me as long as I’m not charged, but that’s costly at the expense of the restaurant.
Overall we had a lovely dinner with some great food. But had we not ordered the appetizers and only the main course, our experience would have been completely different. I recommend dining here as long as you’re ordering an appetizer or two.

Read moreCelebrated my birthday dinner at this place tonight and it did not disappoint. They reopen for dinner at 5 and since we were early we decided to go in the bakery just beside the place. The place was nice for a sit down dinner with a great ambience. Going in you can see the open kitchen on your right and the dining area on the left. We were seated in a booth where you can see the hustle and bustle of the kitchen. It was not busy yet as we were the second group to go in. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We had our drinks and appetizer (crispy fried calamari) and for our main dish we had the clam chowder, rib eye steak and aglio olio peperoncino and for dessert the mango brûlée. Portions were just right that you will be full after finishing it. The steak was small compared to an average american serving but my husband liked it a lot. It was well seasoned and tender. The bread bowl which my daughter had was delicious, it had the blue sail beside the menu so our server said anything with a blue sail is recommended. The aglio olio pasta I chose did not have one but it was still good. Dessert was not too sweet and you can taste the mango on both the custard and the small scoop of ice cream topping. Service was great, very attentive staff and the ambience was very nice. Overall it was a great first time dining experience. Will...
