My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary because a friend of ours had referred Chatan Harbor. We were so pleased from the moment we walked in. The decor was well put together and the ambiance was marvelous. They played a nice mix of jazz and r&b music. The host greeted us and sat us by the ocean view which we appreciated. The waitress was very prompt with taking our order and waited patiently being I didn’t quite know what I wanted because of the phenomenal selections. Being that I’m big on customer service I must say the waitress was excellent. She smiled the entire time and checked on us numerous of times. The Merlot wine was one of the best I’ve tasted in such a long time. We ordered appetizers as well, the fried calamari and shrimp with mushroom. For the entree my husband got the lamb chops that were succulent in every way and I proceeded with the grilled lobster dinner. If I could give this restaurant a 10 star I would. Everything we ordered tastes fresh and was very flavorful. We enjoyed our night and know for sure we would be back even if it’s just for appetizers and a glass of wine. I had been here for beer once before and thought it was ok. one year later and the beer is still ok... all of the beers are close in taste and feel very one note. I almost felt as if I was drinking the same beer at a different clarity. They had a seasonal beer with passionfruit that I was excited to try. like the rest, it had that same taste and the fruit just didnt come through. Back to the food, we had nachos to start that were ok but nothing great. Then we had the spare ribs which had a good dryrub but the cook on them was terrible. I am not a person that likes to fight my ribs for the meat to come off and that's how these were. the fat on the ribs hadnt rendered at all leaving it uneatable. We aslo had a Margherita pizza which sould be, in essence, easy to pull off. the cheese had no taste to it at all and the sauce even less taste. I hoped that at least the basil would come through with some flavor but I couldnt even get a hint of it. The overall taste I got on the pizza was the burn on the dough from the brick oven. Read moreDont get me wrong the spareribs are good but with customer sevice I guess I could tell that we are VERY DISAPPOINTED, We felt that theres a division of areas for foreign and for locals, as they put us at the very left side / back area of the restaurant were all the americans are. I even called and requested a reservation a day before and requested if we can have an outdoor seating but they refused to gave us they said that theres only ONE more spot for my time of liking and then seeing that theres like A LOT of outdoor seating available during my time of reservation. I felt really disapponted about it. The servers are rarely to be seen in our area since were like at the back side of the restaurant so my husband has to serve water whenever i requested for water. And knowing a fancy restaurant the servers should be very attentive to their customers well apparently they’re NOT.
We ordered mussels which is ok? W/c they can improve the recipe maybe try doing a baked mussels with garlic and cheese.
The lamb chops that my husband ordered was ok too? Its kinda pricey for the portion he had that day its like 4pcs? If im not mistaken.
The pork spareribs are good! we both liked it.
