We were looking for a place to stay for 5 nights on Lake Kawaguchiko for 3 people. After checking the room rates during our stay, we found that this place was reasonably priced and had separate rooms with privacy. Most importantly, it had a private bathroom and the room was quite okay. There were 2 beds downstairs and 2 sofas that could be folded into sofa beds. The mezzanine had a very low ceiling and could accommodate 2 people. There were 2 sets of bedding upstairs. We had a large suitcase so we had to take turns opening one at a time because the space was quite limited. Pros: The room was very clean. It had all the basic amenities, a microwave, refrigerator and complete kitchenware. You can buy food from the supermarket to cook your own food or heat up your own pre-made food. The accommodation provides a set of towels for all guests to use in their daily lives and will clean the room if you stay for more than 5 nights. The accommodation is about 1 km from Kawaguchiko Station. There is a convenience store nearby, just a short walk away, and there is also a coin-operated laundry across the street, which is quite convenient. Cons: The walls and floors are thin. You will hear the sound when other residents open the door and pass by. - Most importantly, the check-out time is 9:30 a.m., which is very early. I would like to see improvements in this matter because it is...
Read moreThe listing on booking.com advertised these rooms with a "hot tub" and even went so far as to write, "The standout feature of this room is the hot tub" before going on to claim it also had "private entry" - which you can see is untrue, as neighbouring doors are only a metre away and problematic if they leave their exterior lights on overnight. Regardless, the room DOES NOT have a hot tub. It has a bath. With no jets or anything... Just a bath in with the shower. So for those expecting a hot tub/jacuzzi/spa, this isn't it. Which is sorely disappointing for foreigners with tattoos, as nowhere in this area are you allowed to visit an onsen either.
The room was modern, clean and quite useful as it can sleep a surprising amount of people. I do take slight issue with the cost to add extra guests, though. At ¥4400 per person, per night, for such a small room with a single shower/toilet seems excessive. Check out at 9:30am is strange, and they won't store your luggage anywhere either, making it slightly difficult on departure.
Staff tried their best to help where they could, though only available between 3-5pm at the building next door, otherwise the accommodation is unattended. Messaging through booking.com got quick responses and clear information, which was...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights and can highly recommend this place.
Good: Easy checkin. The cleanliness of the accommodation was outstanding, creating a comfortable and pleasant environment. It was spacious and provided ample comfort for two people. The abundance of natural light in the space added to the overall positive experience. Additionally, having a washing machine available was convenient, although there was also a Coin Laundry facility across the street for additional laundry needs. The presence of a 7-Eleven just 200 meters away was highly convenient for quick snacks or any other necessities. The accommodation was well-furnished and had everything one might need, making it highly practical.
Bad: Only minor things. The location of the accommodation was not optimal, especially if you don't have your own car. It may require more effort to get around without private transportation. Another minor inconvenience was the need to rearrange the beds/mattresses, whether it be on the loft or on the couch. The check-in was only available from 3:00 PM, leaving guests waiting even though it felt like the rooms were ready beforehand (since the checkout time was early...
