Read moreThe best coffee and cafe fare in Fujikawaguchiko! We ordered both varieties of the mountain toast and left vowing to come back again ASAP. The mushroom toast has a creamy stew that is great for cooler mornings, whereas the chicken comes in a demi glace sauce that is deliciously savoury. Both meals came with a complimenary salad and small dessert (surely one of the best things about traveling in Japan is the harmony of a set meal!). The coffee was delicious, as was the hand-whisked matcha latte, which was available in both soy and cow's milk. Menus are available in both Japanese and English, and the friendly staff are extremely accomodating to their guests, and have a good understanding of various dietary requirements, including veganism. The cafe is great for lovers of great food, coffee, and cozy Scandinavian interiors and decoration. The building itself is made of warm Finnish pine, and there is a variety of Moomin merchandise available for purchase, as well as artwork created by the owner's friend. Overall one of the best cafes we've been to in Japan, and we will...

I hope she's able to get an assistant one day!
All-in-all, an absolute gem i'd love...
