Definitely not worth the hype and with a queue management system to reconsider. I went there in the early afternoon and, even though there were a couple of tables for two, had to wait at least 30 minutes in the rain because there were no spare large tables for the group of 5 before me. Note: the tables for two remained free in that time but, in spite of reiterated requests to take a seat even on the pipe for a quick coffee, the staff intentionally decided to keep us waiting outside. When I finally managed to enter, I was offered to take a seat exactly on the free pipe I was indicating before (an alternative was offered later in consideration of my visible annoyance). The products I chose (pudding, double espresso latte and brown sugar latte) were average and couldn't make up for the very poor service and for a short break during which I was surrounded exclusively by tourists filming anything around, with no respect for the privacy of other customers. For the records, some puddings were also stored in a tray on the floor (as far as I could see, none of them was served to the customers, still this constitutes a concern in terms of hygiene). Last: a charge applies if you'd like to use a straw for your iced drinks. Although I appreciate the reasoning behind this and the choice to go green, it'd be fairer to choose different lids (already in use elsewhere) without externalising this to...
Read moreHands down the worst coffee shop I’ve ever been, anywhere, anytime. We ordered food and drinks and were asked whether we were fine to stand by the window since the few seats were all occupied. It seemed like a few seats were about to clear so we thought we’d wait by the window until a table cleared up. Once we got to the window we realized it was in the blaring sun and the temperature on that side of the shop must have been at least 45 degrees Celsius. They have shades but they don’t lower fully so the sun hits you straight on the legs. There’s also a fan, but it is turned towards the other side of the shop, which already has A/C. I was so uncomfortable I lost all appetite. Finally a table cleared up and no one else was waiting so we asked whether we could relocate and were told it was not possible. WHY? No apologies, no reasoning, just not possible. They would rather have an empty table and people suffering in extreme heat than offer them the empty seats in the A/C area? What is even this logic? We were so insulted we left right away and were welcomed by the fresh breeze outside. Even though the outside temperature was 32 degrees Celsius, it was still much cooler than the hellhole where they expected us to stand and eat. By far the worst customer service coupled with the most poorly designed and uncomfortable establishment. This place truly lives up...
Read moreI waited for half an hour outside hot and sweaty. Finally when it was my turn to get in the shop, the staff asked me if a window seat was ok. I said yes because there were no other seats available at that time. But look at the seat. WHO DESIGNS SEATS LIKE THIS?? It's more like a fence, not a proper seat. How can your customers sit comfortably in THAT??
After I received my drink and pudding, some customers left and there was a table available. I asked the staff if I could move and he said no. Though he was polite, I thought it was unfair. And then the next 2-3 customers who just came into the store immediately got the table without having to wait AT ALL while I had to wait and sweat outside to get a horrible seat. And when there were more than one table available, I was not allowed to move to get a decent seat. And people after me were lucky to arrive just in time for comfortable seats. You just don't care about your customers at all.
So disappointed from all the walk and all the wait. I took a couple of bites and left the shop.
P.S. they charge you 10 yen more if you would like a straw for your drink. Will never...
