my favourite bakery in fukuoka! i first stumbled on this place back in may 2024 and really regretted not being able to try so many different bakes!!!
the bakes are so fresh and i was really spoilt for choice.
The bakes are all individually wrapped if you're taking away (i highly recommend!) and you can choose to eat in store as well.
I bought about 8 different bakes, and ate them on the day itself, and the rest a day after. even brought it back on the plane to singapore! was still very fresh :)
i managed to try the curry bun this time - was pleasantly surprised because im more used to the flavours of a curry bun in singapore. I was expecting a more japanese-curry tasting bun, but this was a mix of japanese curry and the spice reminded me alot of indian curry as well! i dont really know how to describe it, but i think it really represented a "curry bun" really well.
The ingredients in their buns are also really generous. I recommend coming here to buy your bakes in advance especially if you're going for day trips out...
Read moreThe mentaiko baguette is to die for. The baguettes, freshly baked in house, has a wonderful buttery aroma and taste to it, and pairs perfectly with the savoury umami mentaiko spread. They are served warm with a lovely crunchy texture on the outside, and soft on the inside. I also tried the curry bun and melon bun, which are both on their top 5 sales list. I enjoyed both the buns as their veggie curry bun was aromatic and had a nice balance of flavours to it and it is not as sweet as the ones found at 7 eleven, which I love as well. The melon bun had a crispy exterior and a soft buttery interior. Although these were pretty solid, I would still go for the mentaiko baguette if I could only pick 1 item! Service is a bit slower as you have to line up to pay, order the mentaiko baguette at the cashier and go into a second line to wait for the baguette to be ready. There aren't too many seats at the bakery and you have to pay a little extra to dine in. Overall, this is a place not to be missed especially if you love...
Read moreIn the afternoon, we headed to the super-hyped Full Full Bakery—yes, that place all over YouTube for their mentaiko French bread. We got there around 2 PM and the line was already stretching outside the shop. As soon as we stepped in, we were hit by a wave of freshly baked bread aroma, mixed with the unmistakable scent of mentaiko. Add in the energetic staff shouting out orders—it was a full-on sensory experience. The baguette itself was crispy on the outside and packed with rich, salty mentaiko flavor. But the real standout? They don’t skimp on the mentaiko at all. No wonder it's gone viral. That said... I’m not a huge mentaiko person, so I actually liked some of their other top-seller breads even more. Still, it’s definitely worth the hype for a...
