This is the ramen shop I think is the most delicious in Japan. The amount of noodles is large, and you start by telling the staff how hard you want the noodles. I'm Japanese and from Fukuoka, but I recommend this shop to foreign tourists over other famous shops with many branches. I've never seen a foreigner at this shop. It's loved by locals and is a place where people who are picky go. This shop has its own rules and manners, but they're simple so please remember them. The price is 500 yen per bowl and 100 yen for a refill of noodles, so it's a total of 600 yen and you'll be full. The soup is light Hakata Nagahama tonkotsu, and as the name of the shop suggests, I believe that this soup and noodles are the originals that popularized Nagahama ramen to the world. Has a thick pork bone taste, lots of fat, plenty of green onions and sesame topping at the table. Super friendly staff that are well loved by the local people. You will feel like family. You will be served a large but light and tasty bowl of classic Fukuoka deliciousness by the time you pour yourself a cup of complimentary green tea! Self-serve water is also available.
And though it's not necessary, each table has pickled radish, sesame seed, and a kettle of rich shoyu broth if you want to dress up your bowl a bit. ...all for ¥500!!!
