This place was amazing. The line outside was unfortunate, but worth the wait. This is not a place where customers sit and eat for a long time. There is a time limit. You place your steak on the heated stone in front of you. Cook it as much or as little as you'd like. I'm all for a bloody steak at a steakhouse or when I cook at home, but I found that these cuts were much tastier the longer I cooked them. Much better. I was upset that it took me until I was 70% finished to find that out. Basically, you shouldn't have to fight the meat to come off the stone. However, there is a time limit. Your stone is heated by a candle from below. Once it runs out . . . Times up! At least that is how it felt. I was wondering why the staff kept looking at it. They also did not make an effort to replace it. Haha. Do not waste time - Start cooking as soon as it comes out.

I came here because of the long queue in their sister branch next to Tenjin Subway Station. I ordered the 2 slices Gyukatsu and it tasted delicious, but I suggest trying the 1.5 slice Gyukatsu instead as 2 slices of Gyukatsu are little too much for me. I would definitely come back or visit the sister branch which is in more convenient location for me than this branch. This branch needs to walk a further 8 minutes from Tenjin Station. On normal days both branches would be full with long queues, so if you go to one branch, sees a queue and want to try your luck at the other branch, you maybe better off just wait at the queue instead.

We came in for quite early for dinner and were lucky to get a spot... two hours later. The good thing is they give you a QR code where you can track the wait, so you can walk around the area while waiting. And it's a nice area with shops and all, so not too bad overall. The meat was quite good, the breading was a bit on the greasy side (but I guess that's part of the deal at any tonkatsu). The only downside is that the fire in our hotplate went out before we were done eating (not sure this is a planned timing thing or what), so the last pieces if beef were not as good as the first. But overall a very good experience.

It was near the hotel that we stayed in, the staff are friendly and very helpful, although the space is small like the typical sizes of the Gyukatsu branches. We were 2nd in line, and given a number, so that we can just come back when the restaurant opens. Upon returning at the restaurant we were seated immediately, and our order is served right away, and instructions were given by the staff, especially if its your first time, ( this is our 5th time eating in gyukatsu), our dining experience is fantastic. I suggest you go there early, since the line piles up really fast. :)

**⭐⭐⭐⭐** The beef cutlet was cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The presentation was impeccable, and the flavor was out of this world. Pair it with mentaiko, it’s even better!! The queue and ordering system was pretty good, staff were fast and friendly, always a queue outside as the place is pretty small (no more than 30 at a time) The cozy atmosphere added to the charm, making it a perfect spot for a delicious meal. Highly recommend trying the set menu for a complete and satisfying experience. Definitely a must-visit when in Fukuoka!
