It takes a little effort to find this shop. It’s located at B1F of Parco 本館, not the other Parco 新館.
From the reviews, it should be crowded. Perhaps I was fortunate as there was no queue on a Monday evening.
It’s really salty, it’s very flavourful and has a strong soup based from tonkotsu. I can understand why diners love it for its strong yet very salty base. I could not finish the soup. The stir fried rice was also really salty, combining it with the soup made it doubly salty in my opinion. I saw some lady diners managed to finish the ramen and the rice, but left the soup almost untouched. Perhaps it’s meant to be this way, for the soup to coat the ramen.. because I saw someone who drank much of the soup said it was so salty they had to drink a lot of water to feel better.
The best thing I had here was the stir fried ramen with mentaiko which I ordered for takeout which was recommended by the staff. Surprisingly, it wasn’t salty and tasted just perfect and moist. Again the noodle was really good.
I also really enjoyed the service of the staff of this shop. It was really very pleasant experience because they were attentive and cheerful, especially staff by the name of 赤星. She is a young staff but really bothered to listen to customers and bothers to smile. She also speaks some English which is helpful though ordering process is simple.
The atmosphere and process was also good because the staff take the orders, unlike other ramen shops where they use machines instead, which is a major turn off in terms of service element.
I hope the restaurant continues to improve and take feedback from customers to...

Read moreWe first tried to visit the Tenjin branch (the one not inside the mall) on a Saturday around 1:30 PM, but the line was crazy—about an hour-long wait under the heat.
Thankfully, we found out there’s another Shin Shin branch inside Parco Mall just nearby, and the queue there was much more manageable—only about a 20-minute wait for two people.
I’m not usually a big fan of ramen, but I really enjoyed Shin Shin’s version. It’s lighter and less creamy compared to Ichiran, which I personally prefer. One thing to note: unlike Ichiran, you order through the staff and there’s no option to customize your broth or noodles. But honestly, it wasn’t a dealbreaker for me. Oh—and don’t skip the fried rice, it’s really good :)
Definitely worth trying if you’re in Fukuoka, especially since you can only find Shin...
