Ikkuosha Fukuoka I finally made it to Hakata, Fukuoka! The birthโฆthe brothplace of my favourite style of ramen. Hakata tonkotsu, a creamy, porky bowl of goodness accompanied by very firm, very straight noodles. We were in Fukuoka on a stopover, on our way back to Korea and it was a race to fit in 3 bowls of ramen in 20 hours. The line was huge but fast moving, we ordered via the ticket machine and momentarily we were met with the most regal, the most joyous looking bowl of hot ramen, topped with precision cut spring onions, mushroom, the most gooey of eggs and what could only be described as a curtain of meat. The slurps emanating from around me are the sound of pure enjoyment, a respect shown to the chef that things are truly right in the worldโฆ and they were. All the things. The broth, the mouth feel of the broth was just delicious, not too salty, not too fatty - the perfect balance. The charshu pork had a smokiness to it while it melted away in my mouth next to those perfectly cooked noodles. I donโt give 5 stars often, but this was a 5 star ramen and I was sad to have to rush through Fukuoka to make it to the plane on time. Some will say it is the best hakata ramen, some may tell it is rather normal and do not worth the wait.๐ซก Well, I am those who think this is the most excellent hakata ramen I have during my trip.๐๐ป For me, I donโt think that pork broth smell is unpleasant. Itโs appetising. (Am I weird?๐ค) Traditional hakata ramen features a thick pork bone broth with foam, giving a rich and creamy texture. All ingredients included are so tasty and delicious. You can choose the texture of ramen according to your preference. Iโve chosen the normal one and is just right!๐ฅณ Please add spicy pickles (่พๅญ้ซ่) before finishing this mouthwatering piece.
