KOREAN DINING CHAYU(チャユ) — Restaurant in Fukuoka

As I love Korean food, I was looking forward to eating here, but it was disappointing on many levels. First of all, the food took forever to arrive. Next to our side dishes they also served a tiny dish with pickles that we hadn’t ordered, so we assumed it was included (well surprise, no, you have to pay extra for this item that you did not order…). My partners dish arrived after 45 minutes, and my dish arrived after almost an hour. People who arrived later received their food earlier. When it arrived, the flavour was quite plain, especially for the price (compared to other restaurants in Japan) and the time we waited. I have eaten better Korean food even in Europe. Finally, when we asked for the receipt the bill was like 2,000¥ more than we had calculated!! When we asked to see the overview the staff quickly reduced the price, but even then it was too high. He refused to really show us how the price was constructed, and claimed it was because of the extra side dish that we hadn’t ordered (which he claimed was “obligatory”). Finally, we had enough of it and just paid. After paying we did get a receipt, which actually stated completely different items than what we ordered!!! Even though we went through the items we ordered with him. Bad experience, so...

디너타임 기준 탕수육 1500엔, 짜장면 1080엔 짜장면이 7-800엔대면 매일가도 될 정도로 무난하게 맛있었음. 탕수육은 부먹으로 나오는데 소스를 벌꿀로 만들었는지 흔히 아는 그맛은 아님 그러나 튀김도 바삭하고 고기도 무난한 두께라서 괜찮았음.

아쉬운점은 일본인이 생양파를 잘 안먹어서 그런가 짜장면이랑 같이나온 양파는 너무 잘게썰려있고 탕수육 소스엔 양파대신 배추가...
