We stopped in for a late dinner, as it was one of the few restaurants still open after we arrived to Hiroshima. A short walk from our hotel (Rihga), which was a bonus. All in all, very glad we found this place. Despite showing up close to their closing time, the staff was very welcoming and accommodating, which really is a "trademark" of Japanese customs that I'll miss being back in the USA. Anyway... Our staff was supremely friendly, and the food overall was very good. The pizzas we ordered were pizza oven fired thin crust style. The sauce was oh so slightly liquidy, probably because of the fresh ingredients (tomatoes), but it tasted great! The pastas we ordered were also quite good, though I wished for a slightly bigger portion size. Overall, the food was delightful! The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice as well, though we did have the place to ourselves. And the prices I though were reasonably fair as well, but probably toward the top end of moderate/bottom end of high (for portion sizes in particular...but I'm an American used to American sized portions LOL!). Definitely worth a stop if you need a break from typical...
Read moreThe service was excellent here! The food was a bit underwhelming and the price was high.
We ordered one order of gnocchi and a pizza. The gnocchi was delicious, but the portions were about half of what was expected. The pizza was fired in a wood burning stone oven which was a nice surprise. It either wasn’t cooked long enough or the ingredients were too wet. When it came out it looked more like soup than pizza. The flavour was excellent and the ingredients used were very fresh, but it could have used some more time in the oven to dry it out a bit.
We paid the equivalent of $60 CAD for one pizza, one gnocchi and 2 orange juices. Just the night before we had a larger meal, with alcohol for...
Read moreI'm italian, I eat pizza once per week and I'm in japan from 3 months so... I was there to try a nice pizza, my favourite one in italy is bismark. Wrong. Pizza was little (26 cm of diameter maximum, not like an italian one, of course), like the pizza hut one. I ordered a bismark, that is traditionally made with: tomato sauce, ham (cooked ham, not raw) and egg, added after the hoven-cooking, so almost liquid. Well, it had prosciutto (so raw ham and not the right one) on it, the egg was overcooked and the result was a really salty pizza, so far away from a bismark, the worst I've ever had! After all....it's also very expensive, 2,000 yen for that tiny horrible bismark...never...
