I'm a big fan of old-school 昭和 'Showa' Japan type places and Kurashiki didn't disappoint. With a retro menu of parfaits and Japanese takes on Western breakfast items there's plenty to choose from. The cafe has the old 喫茶店 (Kissaten) browns and stained glass décor you would expect from a place like this while remaining quite spacious and COVID safe at the same time. This cafe offers some pretty great single origin coffees, which is rare for older style cafés in Japan, so any coffee lovers will have a lot to choose from, too. I haven't seen shaved ice that looks this good since I lived in...

Sit down when you get inside and grab a menu, press the call button, and a hostess will take your order. Your food arrives quickly, and you pay at the register. There is a restroom for customers. I like this place, I recommend going inside and relaxing...
