What a phenomenal experience! The moment we stepped inside, the owners made us feel right at home (even though we speak no Japanese). The sushi was incredibly fresh, artfully prepared, and delicious. The chef (Noboru) took time to explain each item we ordered even though the restaurant was busy. Mithuko (the other owner/chef’s wife) was so kind, provided prompt service, and ensured we had all questions answered. It was a beautiful small restaurant where we could sit at the counter and see the chef at work! We had so much fun chatting with the owners and our new friend Hiroshi :) From start to finish, this will be a highlight of our honeymoon in Japan. Do not miss this sushi restaurant when you’re in Hiroshima! Arigatou and mata ne Noboru and Mithuko!!!

They had English menus and used a translator for conversation, making it easy for non-Japanese speakers. Dining with them was the highlight of my night in Hiroshima. The only catch is that it was a bit hard to find, so I’m sharing this picture of the entrance from the street which I didn’t see anywhere online. For American tourists like myself, Sushi Kureshima is a great option for an authentic and welcoming dining experience.

Eating here was like a spiritual experience. The ambience was amazing! Beautiful cozy little place. The staff was incredible. The chef was hard at work preparing the best sushi I've ever had in Hiroshima. The lady working with him was the sweetest person ever. Both were so kind and helpful especially considering I'm not fluent in Japanese. They do have an english menu which is great! I was taught how to enjoy each piece of Sashimi and I have to say this meal was the highlight of my short trip to Hiroshima. Absolutely wonderful. 10/10 I highly recommend. I will definitely come...
