As Hiroshima is almost n the Inland Sea, has plenty of fresh seafood, so we wanted to try a local n' classic sushi (plus other choices) restaurant. I asked the lass at the Granvia Hotel's "information kiosk", who was delighted to recommend her favorite (this place) and was very close to the hotel. A short walk across the overpass bridge and in behind a "Lawson" store - was well sign-posted; thus we found it. Almost full and chefs were slicing up a massive tuna on their prep bar. We got seated the sushi bar table and got the beers and some sushi immediatley. Got an english menu too, helped as well as locals seated next to us (he and his wife went on to try just about EVERYTHING on the menu. What a fantastic night all-round (excellent food, venue/scenery and...

The Ikura warship roll was amazing. The seaweed was still crispy, and there was lots of Ikura. Even though there was an English menu, the chefs did not speak English. They also did not know the item numbers of the food, and had trouble understanding what we wanted. One chef even ignored our order completely for a good ten minutes, until prompted by another chef. However, later on, we began ordering our food directly form the chef, using what little Japanese we knew. We got better service after that. When we ordered aburi tuna, the chef smiled and said "Fire!" as he placed the sushi in...

We ordered the 13-piece omakase sushi which was lovely - exposed us to nigiri that we would not have usually ordered. The anago (Conger eel), crab, and otoro were standouts. We also had an option of two soups (Japanese or miso) - we've had our share of miso soup in Japan so opted for the Japanese soup - absolutely loved it - it was a clear, light and aromatic seafood broth with some clams, mushrooms and greens. We also ordered the agedashi and chawanmushi - all were good! We were surprised by the final bill too. Amazingly good price for the quality and...
