Yakiniku Daigaku — Restaurant in Hiroshima

I had never been here before and I walked by this restaurant once before turning around and going in. It was the best decision I made. The food was phenomenal. The owner brought it out, she was proud of her work and it showed in the food. The meat was well cut and fresh, the service was quick and the flavor was simply amazing. I can safely say, this is my favorite place I have eaten so far in Japan. I cannot emphasize enough how much people need to come try this out. It is a bit out of the way but it is 3 mins from the Takanobashi stop of line 2 in Naka Ward. It might look unassuming but it is great....

We stumbled upon this restaurant on the first night we arrived at Hiroshima. The food was great but the best part was the service. We don’t speak Japanese and it was our first time eating Japanese grill meat. You can imagine how nervous we were when we stepped into this very local restaurant. Fortunately, the staffs were very helpful. We used Google Translate and he was very patient and even suggested enough portion for our family. The younger staff could converse in English as well. 品は皆さんの口コミ通りなのですが、何せここのランチ時間のオバさんの態度が、星一つも付けたくない程の態度悪すぎ！ ランチサービスの焼肉のお盆も、お吸物、ご飯、水、全てに於いて面倒臭そうにバンバンと凄い音を立てておきます。 自分達が行った時間はランチ時間を避けた時間帯、それなのに肉の入ったお盆を、連れがテーブルに携帯置いてて、それ邪魔どけぇやって乱暴な言葉遣いだし、先の様にバンッと置き、焼肉コンロもまだお盆の中に肉が見切れも入っとるのに、コンロの火を消せって言いやがったから、まだ残っとるんじゃけどって、言い返したら、おおすまんかったのって、どんなオバンやと思いました。 それが、今回は彩菜館のランチタイムが一時半だと言うのに早々と店じまい、まぁ余程の人気なんだろうけどね。
