Kuroda — Restaurant in Kagoshima

The best tonkatsu ever. This restaurant would be one of the reasons why we would come back to Kagoshima.

Highly recommend the mix-fry set. The chicken is so super tender that it literally melts in the mouth. The three pork pieces (loin, fillet, minced) are so flavourful. It’s very clever of the restaurant to recommend adding salt to the fillet. It was sooooo delicious. Also the minced pork tastes just like wagyu burger. It’s super juicy. Fish and prawn are also great.

Have to praise their miso soup which is superb. Pork is added to it, making it very different from all the other miso soups we have tried in another restaurants.

Everything was amazing here. You order your meal set and drink from the machine, and you wait until seated or take any free seating. Everything they served me was delicious in my premium mix meal, and told me what they brought out each time they served at my table. They cook to an amazing rhythm making sure everything comes out perfectly tender to the moment it's just barely cooked. The side dishes were fresh and delicious as well. I certainly was glad to make my way out here to sample this delicious food. Definitely one of the most perfect and simple meals I've had the pleasure of eating in Japan. I went there around 6pm. There was a queue with 10 prople and more joining after I was in. I waited for 15 minutes. I ordered the top grade asdorted set meal with rice, miso soup and salad at JPY 3200. It includes chicken tenderloin, pork tenderloin, pork loin with some nice fat, Japanese whiting and a big spawn at the end. They are served one after another, not being served at once, which is good as you can enjoy them in the best serving conditions. They are punching above their weight.
