Vegetarian-friendly restaurant in Kagoshima!
Shiroyama Hotel has been doing a great job in offering vegetarian choices for most of its restaurants. We have tried the vegetarian set (ヴィーガンコース) that cost ¥8,000 per person. Pre-order 2 days in advance is essential.
A tradtional Japanese style lunch set with 8 dishes. The portion is just right for a lunch. The soy milk hotpot is great, the broth is savoury and the ingredients are fresh. The yuba steak is also a great dish. It’s slightly pan-fried and you can still feel the crunchiness despite it’s served with a sauce.
The environment feels decent and the seat I got near the windows has a very cocoon feel in it.
Nothing much to say about the service due to language barriers but you can still feel the staff are genuinely eager to help.

The grilled fugu and the ochazuke was the highlight, the fugu sashimi was so so and the shabu shabu pot was a bit tasteless.
