I am currently staying here on my way to Yaku Island. After being here for awhile, I am already used to the quality of Japanese service and this place measures up to those standards. Though a bit long in the tooth, my small single room was clean, with wifi, frig, telebi, and quiet. The onsen was small but old style which I like and the water was hot enough and the facility clean. Towels were provided also. It was on the top level which was nice. The front desk folks were efficient and spoke adequate English to a non-Japanese speaking Japanese American. I asked for a non-smoking room when I booked and it was provided. It overlooks a beautiful Shinto shrine and a nice park is across the street. It is close to the Tenmonkan area with lots of restaurants and convenience stores. Pleasantly surprised and happy...

Read moreThe reception staff spoke reasonable English and much better than my Japanese.we had booked a Japanese room which was exactly what we got. We had booked meals at the hotel. We can not really comment on the meals because at times we had absolutely no idea either what we were eating or how to eat it. The waiting staff spoke no English and other than please, thank you , I don't understand we spoke no Japanese. The waiting staff tried their best as did we and we muddled through with every one laughing. There was no bar as such but after dinner were happy to serve drinks to us in the hotel lobby.i think if our Japanese had been better it would have meant we would have enjoyed the stay more.every one tried their best with us and to...
