I came to this hotel during low season, the price is about 50 euro for single room including breakfast. ||||The location is not bad, it is in the middle of central station and tenmonkan, both way you walk about 10 minutes, the staff are friendly and polite. You have computer and umbrella to use at the lobby. ||||Breakfast is good, if you like japanese style breakfast (rice) you have no problem about that, but if you are western style, there are only few bread, yogurt, fried egg, bacon and sausage for you. You better book your breakfast in your hotel booking, because walk-in price is 1080 yen.||||I had experienced smoking and non smoking room, do not expect the smoking room is ok for non-smoker, the smell is quite strong no matter how much spray you used and open the window. ||||The room is small like all other hotels around this price, bathroom was a bit disappointed I found a few body hair from previous guest, otherwise the rest look clean and comfortable, amenities include slippers, shaver, toothbrush, hair comb, facial mask(from lobby). The onsen is artificial, the size is ok for 5 people at the same time, during my stay I didn't see any kid. The room is soundproof, I barely hear any noise from neighbor. ||||Overall I am happy about this hotel, they got only individual travelers, or for business, there are no crowd of...
Read moreHotel Hokke Club was a great base for touring Kagoshima. It is a 5 minute taxi ride from the JR station, or a couple of stops on the tram. It is on the edge of the Tenmonkan shopping and entertainment district. Tram service was a handy and cheap way to get around from the hotel.||||The hotel itself is modern and immaculately clean. The staff were (like most places in Japan) friendly and helpful.||||We booked a small double and it was undeniably small. It was probably our smallest room in two weeks in Japan. It was comfortable enough though for a couple of nights. It did require a certain degree of efficiency of movement for two people!||||The room had a kettle and a small fridge. Tea was supplied but no coffee. There is a convenience store right next door and scores of restaurants within a few minutes walk.||||The hotel has self-serve laundry machines for 200 yen.||||There are onsens in the hotel (one for each gender.) We did not try them but there was a steady flow of...
Read moreThe location is just in front of TAKAMIBABA which is 1 station from TENMONKAN by city railway (Shiden), which is 170¥. 5 mins walk to Tenmonkan. Compared to hotels at Tenmonkan, the location might not be so good but it has Parking space for a fee.
The service is EXCELLENT. I travel every week and I am very pleased and surprised by their attitudes. You can feel it at the moment you arrive at the front desk. Usually the reception of this type of hotels tend to be very simple and robotic, here its different. Greetings and smiles and very good attitudes. Also everyone at the restaurant in the breakfast buffet was also super nice. I saw many of them helping elderly and people who seem to get lost as they are not sure how they can serve drinks or foods.
The room is typical business hotel style. Not small but you can feel its aged. However everything is well maintained and updated.
There is a convenience store (family mart) just next to the hotel. Umbrellas are available...
