Yochanya Izakaya — Restaurant in Kagoshima

Went here twice during my short Kagoshima stay. Even though I speak very little Japanese, the staff, regulars, and the owner engaged me in conversation. This is definitely the place to go if you're traveling alone and would like some nice company during dinner. I was feeling a bit lonely at this point in my trip but speaking with them really lifted my spirits! Plus, you get some good yakitori and umeshu. They have very fluffy satsuma-age as well!
