NO SIDE — Restaurant in Kanazawa

We wanted to try the local Kanazawa Hanton rice and stumbled over an online article which included No Side as a recommended place to find the dish. We were not disappointed. It is a small local place and the evening we were there owner took our order and cooked it for us. We loved the quiet small restaurant vibe and personal service and the food was delicious. One of us had the fried chicken Hanton and the other had the shrimp Hanton. Both the shrimp and the chicken were perfectly fried and the rice and omelette were very tasty. The owner was attentive and friendly. We would thoroughly recommend this place for an authentic experience. Note that you CANNOT pay by usual credit cards (Visa etc) so take enough cash. Searching on Google for Hanton Rice, a specialty of Kanazawa, that was still open late at night led us to this restaurant. The location was quite easy to find and close to Kanazawa Station. We ordered Hanton Rice and Kanazawa-style curry.
