Always enjoy visiting the local Hanbey wherever we are in Japan and the Kumamoto one doesn’t fail to deliver the retro kitsch charm and sizable drinks.

Staff were great, however if you’re not confident with Japanese you’ll need your Google translate app as there’s no English menu. Even with my mediocre Japanese the staff understood what I was after and were pleasant to deal with.

We got one of the small private booths and it had all the decor to go with it.

The price is decent but bear in mind, the cheap prices often come with smaller portion sizes which is actually a good thing as you can try a range of dishes. Not my first time at Hanbey but easily one of the more enjoyable visits. Staff were very friendly and very accommodating. Even though they didn’t have an English menu, They worked with us for ordering and we didn’t feel pressured to be quick. Food arrived quickly after ordering and there were no issues. ◆え！このとんかつが190円！ 感想のようなメニューです。 串カツではありません。 千切りキャベツの上に、手のひらより大きなトンカツがドーン！！！！！！ 加工肉のようですが 190円とは思えないボリューム！

◆焼鳥60円〜 もも肉は最安で60円はえぐい！

◆ドリンク オレンジジュースはジョッキで110円! みかん丸ごと一個入ったジュースも230円と破格です！

◆おでん90円 90円とは思えないほどの大きさのネタでした！！！ アゴ出汁かな？鰹出汁とは違う美味しさ★

◆東京タワー 数十円とか、500円以下のメニューが溢れる中、 カエルよりも1番高い、謎のメニュー（笑） オニオンリングフライのタワーでした！ 原価を考えると高っ！ってなるけど これまたサクッとカリッとでめっちゃ美味しかった！

◆ホルモンモリモリ焼きそば540円 小ぶりですが柔らかく煮込まれたホルモンがたっぷり！焼きそばに大きな目玉焼き！ これ屋台なら800円くらいしそう！

◆あとがき キャベツ高騰の昨今で、キャベツ食べ放題はやばいです！ 大人のパフェ（子供のパフェはノンアル）は 390円ですが チョコレート掛けのアイスで ドリンクメニューにラインナップされてますがドリンクではないですね（笑）ただのアイスです!（笑）

全体的に価格帯は安いのですが これがこれは高い！ これがこれは安い！（先述した通り）と お品によって当たり外れはあるかもしれません！ まあそれも醍醐味（笑） ちなみにお店で一番高いメニューは 980円の東京タワーではなく店 【金魚鉢酎ハイ1190円】です（笑） 5人分くらい入ってるらしい（笑） 気になるわー

ちゃぶ台の席、 昔ながらのバー?スナック？みたいな席、 カウンター、個室などさまざまな席がありました。 写真の通り、レトロなポスター、ブリキのおもちゃ、ブラウン管、昭和のアイロンなどが飾られていていて メニューも個性的ですが、雰囲気も 昭和感が凄すぎてエモい！！！ ノリの良い女の子ならデートで連れてくると盛り上がるかも！
