KOKO Bakery & Coffee — Restaurant in Kutchan

I don’t know why people will work in a customer facing shop and behave like they are doing me a favor serving me (the paying customer) Choc croissant was rubbish, I read the reviews and thought I’ll try something but mistake… expensive and really a waste of calories Hot chocolate is not hot and when I asked them to reheat, which they did and it’s still not hot (the barista claimed it’s scorching) but it’s far from scorching…. Don’t waste your money.

And for the shop owner, if you want to open a shop at least hire people who are interested to serve the customer instead of making us feel like we are interrupting whatever they are doing (which is not very much!) for a Saturday afternoon.

This review is in context of the exorbitant prices they charge. The coffee is not up to standard. Bitter, over heated and the “baristas” show little signs of training beyond the experience in shop. The music blares out and the staff are offhand. It represents the arrogance of westerners that they make no effort to speak Japanese or respect the culture. And seeing as they speak English they should at least know the names of different pastries. This is all too indicative of a lazy money grabbing Niseko. The “fuinki” 雰囲気...

Bought 3 baguettes today and realized that they were hard as stone when I took them out of their paper bags at home. Too late to go back and exchange them as the shop was close by then and I was far from there. The bread is good for trash, how could they sell this...
