京都スタンドきよきよ三条神泉 — Restaurant in Kyoto

We had a fantastic meal here. We wanted to try Obanzai and this didn’t disappoint. Super friendly and great food.

It is a small place, with about 25 places (some sitting some standing high top tables). The hosts were very and friendly and did well on the English translations for us!

The food was simple and delicious. We tried the 5 kinds of Obanzai to start which were great - potato salad, tofu, eggplant and eel etc. we then had a sashimi course which was really fantastic (especially the saba). Then the fried chicken, which were wings and really tasty. Finally the vegetable tempura, served with maldon salt and was perfectly crispy and delicious!

This was a perfect place to try some local specialties, with very friendly hosts and fantastic food....

A small restaurant with an excellent Japanese food selection. They offer a wide variety of traditional dishes — we tried about seven different ones, and everything was delicious. Highlights were the tempura and the pork stew. You can see the chefs preparing the food right in front of you, which adds to the experience.

The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. We arrived quite late, when no other places had availability, and they still welcomed us warmly. They even helped us call a taxi at the end, making sure we were taken care of. Their drink menu is also impressive, with a wide range of options.

Everyone else’s reviews are totally accurate! This place was such a great experience. The food was excellent. We did the 2,200 set menu. 1st course was a bunch of delicious and extremely fresh sushi. 2nd course was fried chicken with this life changing peppery yuzu paste (very spicy). 3rd course was a squid salad with homemade sauce.

We also did the same tasting with 3 small glasses of local Kyoto sake, and then ended up ordering 2 more glasses. All the sake was excellent.

Can’t recommend this restaurant enough! The staff were so nice and we met a regular who was also very sweet.
