I was there with my family. The food was good and there was even vegetarian and vegan options, but they forgot to serve us some of our orders three times in a row. We understand it was busy and it was not a big deal even though we were wondering how this happens when we order via a tablet and there is states exactly what we want to have. However, the reason why I write a negative review now (which I usually never do) is that when we called the staff to our table to inform them about a missing beer - that we also payed for later! - two times, noone was coming and we were just completely ignored. The staff was actually nice, but this I guess that we constantly had to call them to our table was too much. We also would have prefered to just receive our orders ofc instead of informing them all the time of missing items, but we had no chance. Also the menu on the tablet was not very clearly organized. We wanted to oder sth from the physical menu but did not find it on the tablet. In the end, after asking the staff, it was in the lunch menu section even though it was dinner time. Again: Overall the food was good, the staff in general was nice, but being ignored is not sth I would call good service. Therefore, I would not recommend...
Read moreWe went here blindly based on a quick google search because we were in the area, and we were delighted with everything!
The ramen is a pork bone broth base with sesame, and upon my first taste of the broth it gave me memories of my mother’s mushroom soup. The texture of the noodles was excellent too…. not grainy, and not mushy…. just right. The meal is a bit rich and hearty, so not ideal if you want something on the lighter side.
The billing system was a bit unique. They give you an individualized QR code to place your order, so remember keep that QR code that they give you to pay your bill on your way out. Despite the language barrier, they were very good with assisting us in navigating the ordering system.
Our timing must have been perfect…. when we arrived, it was rather empty, and we were able to choose nearly any seat in the house. By the time we left, the place was full, with a small line-up out front, so it is clearly a popular spot.
Cleanliness was on point, and they have one of the nicer bathrooms that we have yet to see in Japan, in a restaurant of this size.
I am very happy that we stumbled...
Read moreWe stayed near Nijo Station during our Kyoto trip. Found this place via google maps and saw a lot of positive reviews so we decided to give it a try. Here are the key points of our experience:
Service - The staff are amazing, even though there's difficulty in language they still managed to help us from ordering to paying. 5 out of 5 in service.
Ambiance - the restaurant is clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. The smell of food cooking is really mouth drooling..
Food - Hands down! Great ramen! All I can say is "oishi", the broth of the ramen is really umami, the free side dishes are tasty, the karaage is juicy and crispy, the gyozas has a nice crispy skin. Everything is oishi.
Price - This is the game changer, the price is really cheap for its taste and serving. This place is really budget friendly. Eat authentic without hurting your wallet.
Overall, we had a great experience. If we are going back to kyoto, we will definetely eat here again. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you are reading this, this is the sign that you have to dine in here. 10...
