We just finished visiting Ginkakuji and wanted to grab a bite. This restaurant is on the street leading to the temple, so it's in a great spot if you're visiting.

The interior is very charming, there are regular tables and a Japanese-style tatami seating area. We chose a regular table due to me having bad knees.

The service is fast and very kind. We had the "kamo donburi", (roast duck breast slices with scrambled egg on rice) and a katsu curry. Food was served rather fast and it was delicious! Portion sizes are good and the price was very affordable.

Excellent spot by Philosopher’s Path for lunch. Surprised that we got in if I am honest as has excellent reviews and also is very close to tourists on the path. Excellent menu (supported with images and English text) and food served was well cooked and flavoursome. Lovely service too and the option to eat in Japanese...

My friend got sick from a soggy pork katsu. The food came out really fast, but I’m guessing they had the pork cutlets just sitting out for hours because the sickness hit within 20-30 minutes.

The staff were nice and the ramen was good. My friend might have gotten food poisoning from the ramen as well, but they...
