I have been visiting this café occasionally for over two years, usually every few months. Recently, since I moved to the neighborhood, I started coming every couple of days to enjoy a coffee and relax. I even introduced myself to the staff, mentioning that I was now living nearby, hoping to build a good relationship and show that they could count on me as a regular customer.
However, during my third recent visit, I was shocked and deeply offended when I was asked to leave while I was still drinking my coffee. The owner told me it was to make space for other customers, which I could completely understand if the café had been full. But at that moment, there were more than 20 empty seats available. That’s when I realized the rumors I had read about this café not welcoming foreigners might be true.
After living in Japan for two years, this was the first time I personally experienced such discrimination. It was extremely disappointing, especially in a place where I had invested time and trust. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this café to anyone, as no one deserves to be treated...
