We stopped at Botanic Coffee Kyoto during a walk along the Philosopher’s Path—coming from the south end, it made for a perfect one-hour lunch break and a peaceful escape from the summer heat.
The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with the warm aroma of cinnamon and an atmosphere that felt like visiting grandma’s house—cozy, nostalgic, and beautifully styled. The vintage dishware, floral plates, and decorative glassware added a touch of charm to an already delightful meal.
The food was cooked to perfection. From the rich Japanese curry to the Croque Madame topped with a soft egg, everything was flavorful and thoughtfully presented. The desserts and drinks were just as memorable.
Service was prompt and friendly—they were always quick to help when we needed something. This was one of our favorite lunches in Kyoto, and a lovely pause in the middle of a scenic and reflective walk.

Overall, we chose this place on a whim and what a pleasant...

The apple pie I indulged in was an absolute delight - it struck the perfect harmony between sweet and tangy, boasting a flaky, buttery crust that transcended any other I've ever tasted. Furthermore, the French toast was like savouring a slice of heaven itself! The bread was unbelievably airy and tender, exuding a decadent, eggy essence, complemented by just the right hint of sweetness. The cosy atmosphere of the cafe heightened the entire experience, and I must acknowledge the outstanding waitress whose exceptional service elevated our visit to something truly memorable. Needless to say, this place has made an indelible mark on me, and I would definitely visit...
