Gonta — Local services in Kyoto

We went to this place after a long walk at the Tetsugaku No Michi. The owner is very friendly. We only speaks English and there’s no problem at all. We ordered tempura, cold noodle, soba noodles and tofu. The food is delicious and healthy. We noticed that the cold noodle is very different from what we eat at home and the taste is much better. We asked the owner what kind of noodle was used. He’s such a kind person. He gave us some of his somen noodle to take home and taught us how to cook it. We plan to get a strong container and take it back to US and cook...

After a short wait outside, we were seated inside, and our order taken. The food is better than you can imagine. We had a portion of tonkatsu curry with rice and beef curry with soba noodles.

Best curry we have had in Japan, all in this small, family-owned restaurant.

Ignore all the other restaurants in this area and come here, we promise you will not regret it. The food is really amazing, can't stress...

This place was amazing. The service, the food and the atmosphere was perfect. We ordered the Udon with chicken, the curry Udon, croquette and drinks and it was all delicious. The people who served us were so warm, welcoming and made us feel comfortable. When we left, they gave us a lolly pop which was cute. We would recommend this place and it is a must do for anyone...
