Friendliness is a facade. Ummmmm so we decided to try this place as the reviews looked decent. And everything was pretty alright until the end of our meal. We left the shop briefly, and headed back in as we forgot to use the washroom. To our shock, the couple said “100yen”. Visibly confused, they repeated again “100yen” I don’t think I’ve ever came across a cafe that I had a meal from which needed me to pay toilet entry fee. I wonder if they do this to all their customers as we were the last customers for the day. Personally found nothing special about their cake set which was more expensive than some proper meals we’ve had. 2000yen for a slice of cake and cup of tea feels pretty steep. Given the experience we had here, this place feels like a major red flag and I would advise you to avoid it. It also seems like they are finding every chance they get to take your money. This shouldn’t be the way to run a business. Please spare a thought for your customer’s comfortability and basic needs.

Stumbled upon this cafe and absolutely loved it! So glad we didn’t stop at other more modern-looking cafes along the way. Like many other reviews mentioned, this quaint cafe is run by a cute elderly couple, who were so friendly and accommodating to foreigners like us. They had your basic decent drip coffee, but what amazed us were the cheesecake, apple pie, and ham sandwich. The cheesecake was creamy, and the apple pie was tart and flakey. The ham sandwich was the surprise winner, with fresh vegetables and a hint of mustard. Yum! We’ll be back for sure!

Cosy, friendly café near the Philosophers Path. We went in because it was the only place open at 8am and we were stunned at the homely atmosphere. The owners were very welcoming, happy to do takeout coffees for two sweaty British joggers. We enjoyed looking at the collections of old cameras, typewriters, clocks. The café atmosphere was wonderfully nostalgic, and reminded us of our parents' and grandparents' homes in England. And as for the coffee, it was delicious! Very good indeed. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were very hungry after the temple visits. A little desperate, we went inside with low expectations and were so positively surprised. A quirky place where it feels like time stood still for many years, with old cameras and some curiosity items. It felt like being at my own loving grandma's place. The elderly couple running the place are so enthusiastic and nice. The toast sandwiches were good, the coke float was also nice. Almost left without having cake, but in true grandma style, the tiny lady proudly took out the cake tray to show us the options and we couldn't resist getting one. It was a nice moist cake so we...
