Champontei Sohonke - Nijō Station — Restaurant in Kyoto

I got the miso ramen and it was incredible! Topped with green onion, cabbage, corn, chashyu, nori, and a half-boiled egg cooked perfectly. The corn will sink to the bottom of the bowl, but eating it while drinking your soup at the end is almost like a dessert! The noodles were my favorite part; thick and delicious. I also ordered the gyoza and it was exactly was I was craving.

The gentlemen running the place were attentive and very polite and the beer and the glass it came in were ice cold!

This was absolutely my favorite ramen in the Nijo...

Amazing tasty food made with fresh ingredients, we came here twice. Self service machine easy to use, a foreigner (like us) must just select the English option to properly understand what they are ordering. However, there are also pictures showing you the meal. Atmosphere is unexpectedly nice considering that it's a small restaurant just outside the JR Nijo station. Friendly warm service....

The Place Is very conveniently placed just outside the train station. The food is delicious, filling and cheap. Staff is friendly, fast and silent. The menu is small but customizable and you have vegetarian options (not sure about vegan options though). We had lunch and we came back for dinner.
