Surprised to see a korean restaurant in kyoto near the train station. I always crave some korean traveling across asia. I need that Korean spice. Hence i always order something spicer traveling. Choice today was
Spicy fried chicken and dak bukkum aka spicy cheesy chicken.
The crispness of the fried chicken was on point. The sauce was not bad. I would give it about 3-4 stars out of 5
The dak bukkum was off. Even from the color . It was very light orange color. I can tell there isnt even spice from the color. But when i took a bite not only did it lacked the favor, it had so much water from broiling the chicken or veggie. This looks like they added all on a pan and baked it and the water came out from the chicken and the veggies. it looked like a soup 😔. Veggies were overcooked. Rice cake was overcooked. I couldnt finish.
When i usually make it, i dry the chicken and cook the chicken and veggies lightly on a stovetop first to get all the water out and add a crisp to the chicken. Then you combine the veggies and chicken and add sauce, cook alittle more on stove top, add cheese and put it in the oven till cheese melts.
Kimchi was good.
Appreciate the english menu on the tablet. Easy...

When we actually got a seat, we watched on at 8 counter seats remain empty. Staff slowly bringing in each set of customer was frustrating to watch. Clearly dedicated customers think the food is more valuable...
